My favorite photo of the week
I've been dreaming of purchasing an SLR camera for the past two years. Ever since I dropped my Nikon point and shoot in the creek last year on one of our hikes. That incident was reason enough to give my husband an excuse to firmly say...NO! As if I would drop my camera in the water on purpose! I think not! Any whooo, I can see his point of view.
So,until he comes around, I am on a mission to perfect my picture taking ability with my current point and shoot. My daughter is taking an online photography class and one of the things she's learned is to plan a picture. I've not really planned a picture that I can think of. I just snap and shoot at whatever I find appealing. Until now. I'm trying to plan more. Afterall, I figure if I can learn to take okay pictures now, I can take some great pictures later.
After looking over the pictures I've taken this week I decided that I really like the way this turned out. I tried to plan it, but I have to admit the bee wasn't too interested in following my directions. I did learn something recently though, if you're taking close-up pictures, you want to make sure you push the little flower icon on your camera, that's the macro setting. Believe me, it makes a huge difference!
What's your best point and shoot tip?

What a great picture, Tonya! You should think about listing it in "Sweet Shot Tuesday" at http://www.my3boybarians.com/ . I have had a lot of fun adding my own pics there and checking out what everyone else is clicking their cameras at each week!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Sue :)
This is a very beautiful shot, Tonya! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletevery nice! I finally got a nicer camera last year, but I only discovered what the macro/flower button can do- this year. I cheat and use it on my slr when I don't want to mess with aperture settings- if you focus just right, you can get beautiful boca (blurry background).
ReplyDeleteAperture...boca...I have a lot to learn!:)
